The Fringe Benefit Rates for Fiscal Year 2009 (7/1/08-6/30/09) have now been approved by DHHS.
Benefits eligible -- Federal: 20.0%
Benefits eligible -- Non-federal: 22.3% (2.3% for dependent tuition remission)
Benefits ineligible -- 8.6%
The new date for the F & A rate agreement is 4/7/08 (replacing the previous agreement dated 3/15/07). This is the date that should now appear on NIH applications. [And just a reminder, only the fringe benefit rate has changed--not the F & A rate.]
The new F & A cost rate agreement has been posted to the URA website at http://researchadmin.uchicago.edu/support/idca.pdf (PDF) and the FY 2009 fringe rate breakdown will be posted on the URA website as soon as possible.
