Dear Colleagues:

During this last year URA wrapped up an internal audit by PWC.  That audit included a number of recommendations to make roles and responsibilities more explicit.  The University of Chicago also received a site visit from NIH regarding compliance with PHS's Conflict of Interest regulations this past year.  A plan to revise the PTF provided the opportunity to address the comments made by our internal auditors and to clarify the COI questions posed to the PI

We have therefore revised the Proposal Transmittal Form and Instructions, and you may find them here. Please note that as of Wednesday, March 1, this new version will be required for the submission of grant proposals to URA. 

The most significant changes that come with this version are:

Administrative:

  • Section II. Proposal and Agency Information -- additional check boxes for application type; box for agency guidelines URL
  • Section III. Deadlines -- new section altogether with questions pertaining to e-submissions
  • Section IV. Project Information -- new check box for ANL participation; new check box asking about animal models
  • Section IX. Responsible Administrative Department -- Administrator now signs a certification statement
Investigator:
  • Section X. Declarations -- This box has been significantly revised.  Please make sure PIs read the new COI questions carefully so they may answer the new questions correctly.
We hope this new version is clearer and more precise.  Revising the PTF has also allowed us to respond to many of the questions/requests for change that we have received from you over the past year or so.
