Negotiating and Accepting Awards
Just as the University is the formal entity submitting proposals, negotiating and accepting awards for the University is another of the roles delegated to URA by the University's Board of Trustees. Managers in our office contact sponsors to discuss the terms and conditions under which an award may be accepted. During the course of every negotiation, the PI and local administrator are apprised of the issues under negotiation. Any agreement accepted by the University must have the concurrence and acceptance of the Terms and Conditions by the PI, department, and division. Once agreement from all parties has been reached, URA signs the agreement, committing the University to the terms of the sponsor.
