Searching for Sponsored Funding

The University of Chicago finds support for research, training, and other academic purposes in many places (see U of C Funding Profile). In fiscal year 2003, the University accepted in excess of $300 million in sponsored funding. Roughly 60-65 percent of the University's total sponsored funding comes from the Department of Health & Human Services (mostly from the National Institutes of Health) and the National Science Foundation (approximately 15%). Numerous other agencies and organizations also contribute significantly to our research and academic mission. The majority of the funding is for research, however support is also received for fellowships, training, conferences, equipment and various other educational purposes. The search tools and sites listed below are useful for linking research ideas to appropriate sources of funding.
