This is an addendum to the memo of February 27, 2001 regarding time and effort reporting on grant and contract proposals.
In most instances we would expect that faculty time and effort is usually summer effort for which funding is requested. However, in instances where no federal funds have been requested for faculty effort, we would want the Principal Investigator to commit academic year effort. To meet government requirements 0.5 months of AY effort would represent the typical committed effort necessary to meet federal requirements.
